Sizzling Suns halted by the Clippers

The Phoenix Suns seven game win streak was ended on Thursday night thanks to Paul George & the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers have now won 9 of their last 11 games as they look to break into the top two in the Western Conference.

In a tight battle to start, Paul George showed he was to be the difference maker for LA early on as the Clippers ended the first quarter with a one point lead.

The Suns were struggling from three but they still managed to stay in touch with the Clippers and pulled into the lead late in the second quarter. Kawhi nailed a three pointer with just 0.2 seconds remaining in the first half to pull the lead back to two going into the break. HT: Suns 56-54 Clippers

The Suns retained the lead early in the second half before Kawhi Leonard appeared to inspire his team with a moment of brilliance.

'The Klaw' picked the ball up on the wing before driving towards the rim and appeared to float in the air as he jammed home the one handed slam over Suns big man, DeAndre Ayton. Momentum appeared to switch back toward LA off the back of this play and they went into the final quarter with a two point lead.

Within seven minutes remaining in the the game, Patrick Beverley was ejected for an elbow on Chris Paul but this only seemed to inspire the Clippers, specifically Paul George, as the home team went on a 10-2 run.

The Clippers outscored the Suns 59-47 in the second half and held a double digit lead for the final five minutes of play. Paul George was 7 of 9 from three as he put up 33 pts & 7 rebounds while Kawhi Leonard added 27 pts 5 rebs & 5 assists.
